TRAVIS SCOTT
As a tribute to this multi-platinum artist, I created a room that showcases Travis Scott merchandise such as the Nike x Travis Scott sneaker collaborations, sold out merchandise from La Flame’s website, as well as a custom Astroworld pinball machine designed by yours truly, and more.
The Collection
Among the many collectable items that can be found in this room is the Travis Scott action figure. I gave it a refresh by making the body gold to pay tribute to Astroworld album cover released in 2018. I designed the packaging to visually pair with the super deluxe album as a set for Cactus Jack superfans.
Another custom designed component of this room is the Astroworld pinball machine. Inspired by the nostalgia of visiting theme parks and arcades, it felt fitting to make Astroworld come alive in an authentic way, especially since Travis Scott named his last album after a beloved amusement park he frequently visited as a child, Six Flags AstroWorld. The cabinet was wrapped with tie-dye graphics to honor Travis’ love for tie-dye. A key moment is the play field, it holds a large gold head just like the one seen in the album cover. The red-orange apron graphics reminisce the artwork used to advertise the Wish You Were Here tour. Chrome rails and hardware, a nod to the millionaire’s interest for bling bling. A perfect square makes up the back-glass, intended to perfectly fit the album’s cover art. Astroworld graphics can also be seen scrolling thru the LED display panel for a complete Astroworld takeover.
ENVIRONMENTAL
Nike and Converse are some of the biggest clients I’ve had the pleasure working with. From a wide variety of small-scale projects to larger global projects, storytelling is necessary in order to amplify the narrative. Scroll down to view a few highlighted projects I’ve helped bring to life over the years.
Tailwind
The Tailwind running shoe debuted in 1978 at the Honolulu Marathon and was the first shoe to use Air technology. But what made it visually stand out was the use of the color Light Photo Blue. Our goal was to highlight the important role that Air MI (Air Manufacturing Innovation) plays within the Nike product creation and manufacturing process while connecting the environment to the broader Nike culture. We created a space that felt creative, productive, and part of the Nike DNA through a common thread by leveraging Light Photo Blue.
The main attraction in the space is the wings sculpture we designed with an estimated 1,800 Nike Air bags in various shapes and colors ranging with Light Photo Blue and Volt tones—colors that juxtapose the past and the present. The sculptural wings represent the goddess of victory, Nike. With Air MI’s many successful victories innovating Air technology, it was more than justifiable bringing that language onto the ‘Revolution in Motion’ sculpture.
